    Helping Organizations with Volunteerism

Voluntary Sector are any non-profit organization that use volunteers. Sectors that utilize services of the VRC include organizations relating to Sport, Recreation, Education, Health, Public Service, Social Support. Organizations can come to us or we can go to them, the VRC is a one-stop-shop helping
organizations move volunteerism forward in their organization.

With all these sectors and the geographic span, it is obvious the VRC does not have the capacity to find volunteers for every organization in the County. The VRC reached Sector organizations throughout the County by providing training, individualized consultation, information, linkages and resources to
voluntary sector organizations that “Help You Help Others”. Our goal is to help organizations have the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively recruit, screen, develop and retain volunteers. Go to Organizations

    Helping Community Members Volunteer

Some reasons people volunteer are to meet people, help others, learn skills, use their skills, try careers or work together as a family. Some people are retiring and want to keep busy, some want to get out of the house, some want to be challenged and some want experience before going to College or University. Some want to volunteer within an organization, on a Board, from home, through the internet or out of the country. No matter what the reason, why the interest or where you want to volunteer, the VRC helps you get connected. Come see us to discuss your possibilities and we will get you connected. Recognition and Celebrations

As a way to promote and recognize volunteerism in the County, the VRC participates in County wide Celebrations. The two major events are Citizen & Junior Citizen of the Year and National Volunteer Week Activities. Voluntary Sector Organizations can also submit candidates for the VRC Volunteer of
the Month. These volunteers get recognized individually and publically. Nomination forms are available, please go to Recognition
