Recruitment Support
Wouldn’t it be great to wave a magic wand and have the perfect volunteers arrive at your doorstep? Recruiting volunteers is a critical part of the Volunteer Management Cycle. Recruitment is very strategic and requires it requires Volunteer Managers to have a certain level of knowledge, skills and abilities to recruit effectively. The VRC does not have the capacity to recruit volunteers for every voluntary sector organization in the County. Our capacity lies in two areas; providing the training and resources to assist organizations become proficient in volunteer recruitment and we have to capacity to inform volunteers about your organization.
To assist your organization with recruitment strategies, the VRC offers the following recruitment specific services:
- Training on Recruitment Strategies
- Consultation to organization that assists in the development of internal recruitment processes
- Informational resources on recruitment strategies
- Links to resources available through Provincial and National volunteer

The VRC also has a mandate to connect individuals to local organizations. Community members came to the VRC to find out about volunteerism and opportunities within the community. As part of our process with individuals, the VRC discusses reasons why the individual wants to volunteer, what type of opportunity they are looking for and what skills they have to share /want to gain. These individuals are then provided access to a voluntary sector databank, the “VList”. they can search the VList to find organizations of interest.
Once your organization joins the “Vlist”, information on your organization and volunteer needs can be accessed by community members. Your organization can be added to the Vlist by completing the form below. The Vlist is a great tool to add to your outreach and recruitment strategy!
